A Burke poll finds 76 percent of Republicans favor President Coolidge for re election. Lowden is at 10 percent with 14 percent split among Danes Hoover Longworth Hughes Mellon. Democratic challenger choice favors Al Smith at 50 percent, Reed 10 percent, McAdoo 9 percent.
Waslington June 8 A U P report says assistant secretary of the treasury Andrews called charges that Ira L Reeves was ousted for denying a permit to a Patterson New Jersey brewery absurd He declined to enter a controversy with Reeves whose designation as collector began June 1.
A series of earth disturbances about 6400 miles from New York were recorded today on the Fordham University seismograph. Disturbances began at 3 31 p m and peaked at 4 25 p m with sensing at 5 68.

George's wife and sister Clara Vaughn are hospitalized with serious bruises but expected to recover. The driver said a bee caused him to momentarily abandon the wheel.
Cadet M. B. Robinson Jr., 21, of Brooks Field was killed when his plane crashed at Uturri field. The Baltimore, Md. native was ejected through the windshield as the aircraft was destroyed.
Louisville reports say storms and floods across southeastern Kentucky have caused at least 47 deaths. Letcher Letcher Perry and Magoffin counties bore the worst damage with rising rivers along the Big Sandy Licking and Kentucky rivers. Refugees gathered at Hazard as food and bread rations ran low amid evacuations and disrupted services.
Budget secretary Townsend released Governor Fisher approved appropriations totaling 12 916 500 for new building work and 1 638 400 for land purchases.
