Captain Charles A. Lindbergh postponed his planned single seater Hawker Woodcock flight from Cherbourg to Paris because dense fog and mist closed in at Le Bourget. He remained at Keepley overnight before attempting to reach Paris at dawn, with plans for a New York trip later in the week.
A United Press survey finds a drop in June marriage licenses across several cities. Boston issued 70 licenses yesterday up from 69. New York had 190 licenses, down 53 from 1926. Detroit fell from 127 to 70. Other cities show similar declines with 1927 versus 1926 figures.

June 2 report says Peter Runie drove off a 30 foot embankment into the Susquehanna River. The car was submerged except for a windshield and steering wheel top. Runie escaped with a scratch on his left arm and wet clothes.
President Coolidge plans a three month retreat in the Black Hills of South Dakota starting next week. He will stay at a remote lodge 14 miles from a railroad and two days from Chicago, with only secret service and a private telephone line, avoiding newspaper access and public speeches.

The high school girls sang a trio with Barbara Sellin Dorothy Thompson Florence Irwin Pauline Smedley Lois Benjamin and Margaret Birchard. Dr James Albert Beebe of Allegheny College gave the address titled Continued on Page Seven.
James M. Clack Pittsburgh director of public safety was bruised in a Lincoln highway crash near Bedford while en route from Garrison Forest school graduation. His car overturned after colliding with a connected woman’s car. his daughter Perry and sister Margaret Clark of Washington escaped unharmed.
A German cyclone killed three people, injured 25 and destroyed 300 houses. Lingen and Berlin reports note large crop and livestock losses.
Five members of the Warren General Military Training School receive diplomas at the twenty fourth graduation exercise in First Methodist church. The class includes Eleanor B Marker Margaves Simmons Michel M. Anderson Esther Mary Anderson and Mildred L. Spade. The program begins with a march by Men Charlotte Hall Tohne and features an invocation by Rev Charles T. Greer. Dr Parmenter delivers the address. Diplomas are presented by Dr O S Brown. The five graduates receive hospital pins from Mrs Charles Schimmelfeng. Music by Miss Evelyn Norlin. Benediction by Rev Greer. A reception follows.
New York June 2. A sharp wholesale selling wave hit the stock market after midday driving many issues into new highs and lows. General Motors moved above 201 then dipped and recovered near 189 1 2, General Electric traded 108 1 2 to 106 1 2, and rail stocks such as Texas Pacific New York Central and Erie showed active movement amid overall strength and a frantic ticker. By 1:30 p.m. trades resumed normal pace as prices caught up with the market.
