Warren County Receives 9338 Apportionment of Gas Tax 1927
Warren County will receive 9338.11 as its share of the 1927 state gasoline tax apportionment for the last half of the year. County Treasurer BR E Ward said the check is expected soon. Jumps to Safety With Daughter As Car Goes Down Hill
Mrs. Charles Mathis of Canton street grabbed her young daughter and leaped from a Ford sedan as it stalled and rolled down a hill toward Irvine street. The car tipped over an embankment, landed on its top, but the occupants escaped injury and are recovering. The incident occurred at 7:46 this morning. A dog in the car jumped out before the vehicle left the road. Later, Butler tax collector James A. Hockensberry, 48, died at home after three years in office. He was active in local politics for many years.

Aged Bradford Resident Dies After Auto Crash
Allen Bartholomew age 74 of Kinzua Creek died Friday afternoon in Bradford hospital after being struck on West Branch road near Bradford. He had a broken leg and his death followed Tuesday’s crash. Funeral at Kinzua Methodist Episcopal church Mon at 10:20 with Rev A H Blomster officiating. He was born April 2 1854 near Kinzua.

Fire continues to rage at Hollinger mine in Ontario rescue efforts ongoing
