Burgess L. E. Chapman says a curfew ordinance for under sixteens may become borough law soon. The plan would require youths to be off borough streets by nine unless with a parent or adult. If approved, nightly fire alarm signals at nine may warn youths of the curfew and an 8 45 alert would precede it. Other items include police and fire chiefs elections, a salary schedule, and rest room location.
Warren Boy Scouts began a week of activities marking Boy Scouts Anniversary Week and Scout Sunday ending February 12. Under Scout Executive Frank C. Roud, events will span home school church and outdoors with a recommitment on February 8. Warren Council plans a local variation to the national schedule including a Friday demonstration at Warren High and a Sunday union service for all troops.
Kane faced a mysterious blast Friday night with doors banged and plaster knocked from walls. Fire and police offices and explosive sites were swamped with inquiries as investigators search for the cause and the Kane Republican floated a meteor theory in its Saturday issue. An oil man near Kane speculated the drill might have hit a fireworks plant in Chins.
Hugh C Jamieson, moving with his wife from Warren to Harrisburg, suffered serious injuries when his car was struck by two passing vehicles near Blossburg Pennsylvania while preparing to chain the rear wheels. He endured head cuts and possible hip fracture, with X rays to assess damage. Mrs Jamieson and son L C Jamieson traveled to Blossburg to be with him as he recovers in hospital.

Washington February 6 U P William B Ware senator elect from Pennsylvania again denies charges of fraud and corruption by defeated opponent William B Wilson In a statement to the senate privileges and elections committee he asks dismissal and a seat in the senate The recount and record examination started in the senate office building with a 30 worker tally and clerks counting Allegheny county ballots while Philadelphia county records are reviewed Two hundred seven defendants set for trial in Allegheny County during the February term of the criminal court
Senator Burton Wheeler plans to urge the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee to suspend other business and pursue a full investigation into the western Pennsylvania coal strike. After surveying mining villages near Pittsburgh he warned the hillsides are fertile ground for Bolshevik influence. He spoke with striking and non union miners, coal and iron police, deputy sheriffs, borough officials, and business men. Continued on page five.
The Warren County Ministerial Association plans union noon-tide Holy Week services at First Methodist Church from 12:10 to 12:55 led by prominent local clergy. The program will feature sermons on moral and religious life with discussions of current topics such as Senator Ware’s seating and Borah’s naval expenditures. Reverend Dernheim delivered the day’s address on Washington and Lincoln. Seventeen members attended a luncheon after the meeting.
Charles A. Lindbergh arrived at Port au Prince Haiti at 1 51 P M marking his final intermediate stop on a goodwill tour toward the Pan American conference in Havana. The flight began earlier today as he continues to travel through the Americas by air and meet officials and citizens along the way.
Coast Guard reports ten fishermen stranded on a moving ice field three miles offshore in Lake Erie after ice broke away from the Canadian shore. Captain Paul H. Forner leads search efforts with aid from guardsmen and requests planes for aerial aid as frigid conditions threaten exposure.
Lieut. Actin Gavin of the navy began a three stop flight from Washington at 6:20 AM in a two motor Sikorsky sky plane bound for Havana Cuba. He planned refueling at Moorhead City Jacksonville and Key West before reaching Havana around 6:20 PM. Pan American Airways officials John A Hamilton Q Trippe and mechanic Wood accompanied him. Gavin first tried a dawn takeoff from the Potomac but the river was frozen so he used a Tang takeoff.

F M Caughey praised Scout work and a travel reel showed camps in Erie County McKean Potter Warren.
New residential rate effective March 1 set by the Pennsylvania Electric company serving Warren county. It combines a three cent per kilowatt hour energy charge, a 60 cent fixed charge, and a 10 cent per 100 square feet floor area fee with a 1,000 square foot minimum. One meter will cover all home electricity usage up to a two horsepower generating capacity.
In Broughton Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh on February 6, schoolchildren returned to classes under deputy sheriffs and state troopers after shots struck the building and threatened 300 pupils. Three deputies and four troopers patrolled while Captain J C Mauk led an investigation into the disorder with a report expected from Harrisburg authorities.
