Six persons, including a Warren resident and two ex locals, were injured Friday when their car skidded on the Kane Sheffield road four miles from Kane and slammed into a bank. Lee A. The driver claims another car forced them off the road. that vehicle did not stop.
Postmaster K. M. Lyons introduces a curbside mail drop at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Market Street. Motorists can pull up to a designated 20 foot no parking zone to deposit letters and depart quickly. Eleven daily pickups and similar train service to inside mail collection aim to reduce congestion.
Fall River Massachusetts faces property damage estimates of at least 25 million dollars and ranks with historic conflagrations. Notable disasters cited include Boston 1872 at 200 million, Hoboken 1900 at 10 million, San Francisco 1906 at 350 million, and Smyrna 1922 at 250 million.

Washington February 3. Action on the Johnson resolution for investigation of the bituminous coal strike will be delayed indefinitely. Chairman Watson of the senate interstate commerce committee said the calendar is jammed. Johnson seeks immediate relief for suffering in Pennsylvania and West Virginia coal fields, with likely consideration within the next two months.
A Pennsylvan ia Electric Company demonstration used a guinea pig to test insulator effectiveness at the railway fright station on Pennsylvania avenue. J N Lewis of Mine Safety Supply Company and Joseph of the Pennelee Mines led the demo with about 100 attendees, 66 from the utility, observing a carbon monoxide gas exposure and revival apparatus now part of the company’s emergency equipment.
A massive fire swept through Fall River Mass killing two blocks of business and industrial buildings including Pocasset Mills Rialto theatre and City Hall. Twelve people were seriously hurt and 250 treated for minor injuries as 500 firefighters aided by volunteers battled freezing winds through the night. Officials said 5 000 to 10 000 workers were left jobless as more than half a square mile burned. The blaze began at 7 PM and was controlled by dawn with danger deemed past though portions remained alight.
Five Warren youths led by Ralph Hall form Arrow Aero Club with headquarters at 125 Fifth Avenue to back Warren Squadron efforts. Club aims to acquire a flying field and planes for actual flying operations, with members including Norman Johnson Perry Mathers Walter Rollin. Next meeting set for Norman Johnson’s home on Beaty Street. Col Joseph E Thompson buried in Beaver Falls after military services.
