Ernest Moore of Tidioute was arrested in Erie on Thursday as part of a case tying him to the December robbery of Alf Bros. general store in Tidioute. His brother James Moore sits in Warren county jail awaiting trial after Cleveland police arrested him and he reportedly confessed. Authorities say Ernest aided in disposing of merchandise and both arrests followed information from Cleveland and Erie police.
The Kane Sheffield Transit Company orders two new buses from White Motor Company for service between Warren and Sheffield starting March 1. Delivery is February 25. The fleet will total four buses, adding to the two operating Kane to Sheffield.
Goodwill messages from Warren will be carried by Boy Scout runners to Jamestown and Kane on Saturday. Dispatches signed by Emory Cook outline a route through Clarendon, Tiona, Sheffield, Ludlow, North Warren, Russell, and Frewsburg with bunting displays requested. The event kicks off Boy Scout anniversary week with patrols uniformed and delivering notes on foot along a mile each.

Lieut. George H. Towner and two U S marine crew departed Anacostia naval air station at 6 25 AM aboard a large Fokker transport on a one stop flight to Nicaragua. They aimed for Miami for refueling and then Managua to deliver supplies to marines fighting insurrectionists in the interior. The crew included Lieut James B McHugh and Corporal Robert Wene. The craft carried 897 gallons of musolite and three machine guns.
A Venango County jury of nine men and three women found Mrs Adsh H Kauffman a 28 year old Exchange Bank clerk guilty on two counts of embezzlement in Franklin Pa The jury also found her not guilty on a third count The two counts convict her involve diverting 2000 from Joseph Shaffers Cochran ton account to her husbands account and 2174 97 from R A Gourleys Rocky Grove account to her husbands The jury reached verdict after four days of trial and the judge read the sealed verdict Mrs Kauffman showed tears as she faced the court and a motion for a new trial was hinted by her counsel
A Warren friend reports the sudden death in Robinson Illinois of Mrs wife of Harry S Deming general manager of Lincoln Oil Refining Co of Robinson. Survivors include her husband a son and two daughters. Funeral planned for Robinson at 3 p m. today. Returns from hospital Roy Buchanan recovering after January 18 operation at Warren General Hospital.
Overheated stoves blamed for two Philadelphia and Westernport fires that killed eight people, six children, as flames spread from the Casino building in Westernport to a frame house. In Philadelphia, six of a family died in a home fire on the 61st floor area, with one seven year old escaping. Pittsburgh reports the old Cartmne building fire destroying two structures.
