Bert Acosta and Clarence Chamberlain launched from Roosevelt Field at 9 3 a m in a Bellanca monoplane to attempt a 60 hour non stop flight to set a new sustained flight record The current record 45 hours 11 minutes 59 seconds was set in 1925 by Drowlin and Landry. Detrom April 12 United Press reports Ford will appear in federal court when his name is called in the Ford Sapiro libel trial. An attorney says Ford was not served but will appear, noting the wait may be brief and questioning the length of his testimony.
New York producer Earl Carroll surrendered to federal authorities to begin a 36 day term in Atlanta penitentiary for perjury. He was joined by attorney Samuel Falk as he faced Judge Augustus Hand and then transferred with other inmates to be moved to Atlanta. Carroll refused to speak to reporters while being confined in the marshals’ strong room and slated for a sleeping car train south with the group including Lipsechutz, Amos, and Krather.
Philadelphia April 12 Unit Press County chairman of the Pennsylvania League of Women Voters reports receiving a letter from Mrs John O Miller of Pittsburgh. The letter, mailed yesterday, reportedly denies charges by insurgents and seeks support to suppress the revolt. Miss Martha G Thomas Harrisburg and others resigned over Miller policies. plans for a rival group are tied to Allegany County Republican influence.

Rocky Roads plays with a broken finger and Walter Johnson is sidelined by a foot injury while Coveleskie starts for Washington.
United Press State report says four small coal companies in the Pittsburgh district employing about 4000 men agreed to operate under the Jacksonville wage scale. Mines produce about 14000 tons of bituminous coal daily. The largest mine in the agreement renewal employs seven men. Chile reinstated Braddock. Fred Salms, chief of police, reinstated after six weeks suspension for not wearing a uniform on duty. He received back pay for the period.
