Mr Broadway and the Broadway Biography
A New York Herald Tribune review critiques NBC telecast Mr Broadway a biography of George M. Cohan. The piece argues the Spewacks and Mickey Rooney miscast the story focusing on Cohan as a brash young man and notes Rooney’s limited portrayal. It contrasts with Tonight Playhouse 90’s Helen Morgan biopic and its darker backstage focus.
