Pleasant Township residents will soon have a safer road as workers clear the Allegheny channel and side bank in preparation for a 22 foot brim fill that will strengthen the washed out bank and improve passing along the road.
Construction equipment will operate for about ten days at the proposed Allegheny river reservoir dam to open a test pit and sample sand and gravel for possible aggregate use. K and M Excavating Co of Clarendon, Pa performs the work under Byron K Gould, corps of engineers inspector.
Warren Borough School Board July session approved 19 223 36 to pay bills including 7 524 81 to Retirement Board and 4 029 11 tax collector bond. Resignation of Miss Delores Benson accepted. Miss Sarah Jane Huston hired. Purchases and reimbursements totaling 60 824 74 from Jefferson and Beaty rentals and 179 73 May milk fund noted. Adjourned meeting set for August 20.
