Local youths win Oberlin Shansi fellowships and Elks scholarships
Miss Margaret Eaton and two others from Oberlin College will teach abroad for two years at Lady Doak College in Madurai and Tunghai University in Taiwan. Jerome Lawrence Martin and Thomas Lyle McManigle, Warren Elks scholars, will pursue aeronautical engineering and teaching careers after four year college aid. A near drowning at Chapman Dam Park saw six year old Jane Van Guilder rescued by Lawrance Miller with life guard Barbara Timm administering first aid.
