Cornplanter YMCA Camp Delights Local Youth
Camp Cornplanter in the Allegheny National Forest east of Kinzua hosted over 100 area youths in late June. Activities included archery, crafts, swimming in a 27 by 70 foot pool, nature classes, and nightly entertainments under Camp Director John Lowman. Dining, movies, games, and boxing filled daily meals at the 100-seat mess hall led by Mrs. Kathryn Cross. Fox Tribe Cabin Three, counselors Bob Neuman and Bob Fellows, proudly displayed two watermelons won in activity challenges.
