Large hail stones up to nine inches fell Wednesday afternoon near Tidioute as a twister ripped trees from the ground. Cars and pavement were damaged, windows broken, wires severed, and lawns shredded while oaks were uprooted south of town.
Friday July 1 finals of Queen contest at Liberty Street corner and Second Avenue at 9 pm. Street dance on Liberty Street from Penna Avenue to Second Avenue at 10 30 pm. Saturday July 2 donkey baseball at Memorial Field 8 pm. Sunday July 3 vesper service at Beaty School lawn 7 pm. Parade Borough Streets and Beaty School 11 am. Drum and bugle at Memorial Field 3 pm. Water battle tennis courts Beaty Field 7 30 pm. Fireworks Beaty Field 10 pm.
Two teenagers vandalized Cilbert Nichols camp in Deer Field Township near Corry around June 25. Donald Bulkley 18 of Grand Valley R D 1 and a 16 year old from Pittsfield were caught by Sheriff Donnell Allen and Deputy Richard Hagerty. Bulkley faced charges after pleading guilty to malicious mischief and is jailed on bail. a juvenile was placed with Warren County probation authorities. Estimated damages run into hundreds of dollars. The case will be used as evidence.
