New Math Curriculum Adopted by Joint School Committee

The Warren Area School system approved an experimental math curriculum enabling eighth graders to take algebra and advancing math sequence through senior year including spherical trig and calculus. The board also discussed bills, site surveys, staff changes, and budget items totaling over 32 thousand dollars.

Snow Delays and Thaw Forecast In Early Week

Heavy snow began the week with a nine foot depth reading as weather persisted. Cold temperatures continued precipitation and a gradual thaw is expected with rain and milder conditions possibly easing conditions later.

School approves space saving plan and repairs project

The school accepted the permanent records plan with originals to be destroyed after filing. Officials will finalize the space saving scheme. The committee approved bids for lumber to fix the high school third floor and will use district employees. A $322.60 power tool purchase for Beaty was approved and a $5000 borough allotment backed the project. Ceremony participants included Charles Tranter Cham ber executive vice president Stan Doebler committee chairman George Geracimos borough manager Neil Culbertson and LeRoy Schneck.
