John M. Andrews, convicted of murder in the first degree for Emile Amann’s death, is sentenced to be hanged. Judge Hinckley sets September 15 1911 and notes appeal plans by defense attorney D A Arird with a Supreme Court hearing scheduled for November 6 in Pittsburg.
San Francisco September 21. The old town of Sonoma was saved from destruction by wine from local winery tanks. The wooden town spread rapidly until firemen redirected water supplies to the wine tanks. Fire caused nearly eighty thousand dollars in damage before flames were checked.
Dr William B Dewees of Newark visiting for a surgical instrument firm was mistaken for a burglar at Hotel Belmont in Scranton on September 21. He was released for lack of evidence and filed warrants against the hotel proprietor Richard Kimmacher and a porter seeking $10 600 damages.
George D. Peck plans 2000 notices to registrars and police chiefs to locate Willis Goodnow missing seven years from North Rose Wayne county New York. He is heir to $290000 estate of Josephus Goodnow of Farmington NY and would inherit $34600 if found or located for his son’s guardianship.

Doctor D H Keller treated him as blood poisoning and lockjaw were feared.
Two smooth swindlers in Columbus township posed as Armour & Co soap agents and visited residents in an automobile. They took cash orders for soap and offered 20 yards of carpet as a premium for every $10 order. Reports say orders totaled over $200 before the swindle ceased and the agents vanished.
Coroner's jury verdict triggers law enforcement search for alleged killers of Frank Connors of New York. He was hurled from Erie train No. 4 near Bear Lake on March 10 after a deep palm wound suggested knife attack. District Attorney Lyons leads pursuit as brother Joe Connors pushes for answers.

After a brief deliberation the jury cleared Mike Pipik of the murder charge relating to the stabbing death of Dave Gustafson on a Sheffield street. Pipik and his brother were charged with assault with intent to kill. both were bailed at 500 dollars and await December term proceedings.

The case against Dr F A Beebe head of the Corry Sanitarium charged with causing Miss Lottie Duggan's death by a criminal operation went to the jury at 5 pm and a verdict of not guilty was returned at 9 pm. The nurse Miss May Fiberling, indicted with Beebe, was released after the testimony.
Minnie Smith faced Judge Joseph M. Swearingen in Criminal Court for two hug theft cases. Police say she embraced victims then vanished with cash. one man lost 247 dollars and another 200 less. She pleaded no defense and received 18 months in the workhouse.
Sherman I. Orner of Meadville was found guilty of murder in the second degree for killing his wife at their home on Memorial Day. The jury returned the verdict after eight hours deliberation, with a penalty of 5 to 20 years imprisonment.
