Warren reports a busy week with court decisions, church weddings, and social events. Key items include library entertainments, YMCA opening, Hammond Iron Works rebuild, and civic council actions on street bridges and school needs. Also notes on residents traveling, illness, and local business moves.
The twenty ninth annual Warren County WCTU convention met in Tidioute Sept 30 1903 with 25 delegates and county and local officers in attendance. Officers and committee chairs were appointed and reports from Evangelistic Scientific Temperance Y and others were presented. An address of welcome and an election of officers followed with lessons from Miss Lena Jackson and Mrs Ada Wallace Unruh. The session included a petition to expel Reed Smoot from the Senate and a closing program led by Mrs Eva P Hill.
Marriages reported in Warren include Fisher Wood at Trinity Memorial Church with a large reception at the bride's home and a later Buffalo visit. Gray Ackes pair wed in St. Josephs Church Warren. White Everett tie in Kinzua with plans to live in Butler. Lindsey Rossyll wed in Ackley.
Died Dennis G Morse 53 in Detroit after bowel trouble his sister and daughter brought the body to Warren for burial at Oakland Cemetery with a short service. Will Ek Blocher 28 in Easton of typhoid fever lived in Warren after the Spanish war and worked at Struthers Iron Works funeral led by Warren Odd Fellows. Eliza Shaffer 76 died in Warren at daughter Mrs Patrick Riley’s home. Myra Lunn 14 daughter of Andrew Lunn of Jamestown N Y died in Warren.
In Warren on Friday October 2 1903 a son was born to Mr and Mrs F Sturdevant. Hon W E Meehan Commissioner of Fisheries spoke in Warren addressing the Warren Co Fish and Game Association about fish culture and protection promising aid in stocking streams. He heads to Corry to visit the state’s largest trout hatchery. J P Samuelson of Chandlers Valley attended church council in Norristown Pa. Tenants leases noted as best forms for sale at the mail office.

Zebilines and rough coated goods highlight the season, including soft cloths for house and evening wear in tinted shades and blacks. Regular 1.35 goods praised for fall shirtwaist suits.
