Father of Colonel Windsor Dies at 84 in Fredonia
Colonel Jarius H. Windsor, pioneer in Pennsylvania oil and well supply, died after a short illness at his Fredonia home. Born near Mayville 84 years ago, he founded Pioneer Hardware and Oil Well supply in Meadville in 1859, later becoming Oil Well Supply Company. He aided in the government suit against Southern Pacific Railroad and built the second U S oil refinery. His lineage includes Epietus Windsor and Revolutionary War era ancestor Steven Windsor.
