Vaccination rules debated at School Directors meeting

The meeting discussed vaccination requirements for pupils with a three point plan including certificates of vaccination or immunity and post vaccination proof. The report by a special committee was adopted allowing student attendance under these conditions.

Morrison Accepts Superior Court Post in Pennsylvania

Smethport received the commission for Judge T A Morrison as a Superior Court judge dated December 30 1902 for one year. He resigns from McKean county bench and may be succeeded by J W Bouton likely, with Morrison to be sworn in in Scranton. Bouton later appointed by Gov Stone to McKean county judgeship.

Public statement clears ring removal claim in Magee case

Warren Pennsylvania January 1 1903 a public statement from Mrs John Ockenga and others insists undertaker Herman L Greenland did not steal a ring from the deceased Glen E Magee but removed it at a family request to preserve for the infant daughter The note also disputes a claimed pin saying it remained on the gown when the casket was reopened and confirms the pin’s unchanged position against the body.

Inmates moved from Warren State Hospital to Crawford County care

Thirty inmates from the State Hospital for the Insane in Warren were sent to Crawford County under county supervision after a new Assembly act allowing counties to care for their own. The Warren Hospital now lists 1,065 inmates, its peak, while a year end report is being prepared. Gent's gloves and mitts advertised at Keller's Sons.
