A Russell area farmhouse two miles east of town burned last Wednesday evening killing three young daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Amel Nelson. The 5-year-old daughter cremated, with two others aged 3 and 2 fatally burned. The mother was in Russell, the father in the barn. a lamp likely exploded starting the fire. Insurance on the home was $400.
