FOR WHEELMEN Races on Decoration Day at Jamestown
The Jamestown Bicycle Club hosts Decoration Day races at Jamestown Driving Park in the afternoon open to club members only. Events include a half mile open a one mile handicap three miles for novices five miles handicap with morning relay around the lake. Spectators welcome with no admission. Death of Sam McBride at Bradford hotel after mysterious powder
Sam McBride proprietor of the Option House at Bradford died at the La Mont hotel after taking a powder from an anonymous letter. Dr. Rae said the powder, likely morphia, caused cramps and death within minutes. An inquest by Coroner Slocum will probe the poisoning claim amid discordant accounts.
