The new Soldiers Monument at Tidioute, erected at about $1,200 and standing twenty feet high, was dedicated by Cobham Post 811 G A R of Pleasantville with a large crowd assembling in the cemetery on Saturday afternoon. The service included a procession on Main Street, music by the Pleasantville Band, and a formal presentation to Cobham Post by Captain J M Clapp.

A dispatch from Corry reports Crosby Hose Co won second prize in Brantford Canada at the great international firemen tournament for drill and department. In Barr Pa May 30 J H Porter near Northeast owns a farm by the Lake Snare Railroad crossing the New York boundary. Early this week some workmen in Porter's employ were involved in events related to the farm.

Brown Oil Company Builder Falls Into Ruin in Erie
Thomas Brown of the Brown Oil Company failed today for nearly half a million dollars. Judgments confessed total about $850,000, covering roughly three quarters of liabilities. Brown, once a merger partner in Star and Eclipse Oil, faced ruin due to Standard Oil tactics and cut rates. One judgment names Orange Noble for $350,000. If Brown’s property could be sold for its worth it would realize about $400,600.
