Rousing Bicycle Races At Air Grounds Crowned By Fenton Wins

About 1,200 spectators at the air grounds witnessed lively bicycle races despite light rain. Fenton of Jamestown captured two diamonds and a watch after delivering a strong ride in the events, including the one mile and five mile handicaps. Notable finishers include Keller of Fredonia and Mayo of Erie, with Warren riders also placing in several heats.

On Saturday July 7 the fiftieth anniversary of Hon W H Shortt and Emeline Davis was celebrated at their home in Youngsville Pa. Surviving children and grandchildren attended as more than 200 friends called. The family presented gold rings and a cane to the couple during a reception from 4 to 10 PM. Local and out of town guests, including A J Hazeltine and wife and Rev G H Huffman, shared in the festivities.
