German born Rev A L Benze emigrated to America at twenty one. He served Warren Pa for eight years and Erie Pa since 1872 guiding a Lutheran congregation now over 500 members. He married Elizabeth Kiehl in 1864 and had seven children. He died after a paralytic stroke at 118 West Twenty Third Street Erie on January 18 1891 aged 57 years and four months. His funeral was held January 22 1801.
