The House has passed one bill while the Senate passed another, but neither will become law this session. The bill shifts the effective date to July 1, 1889, and now goes to the House for the Ways and Means Committee. Death in Greco Crars collision claims two lives
J G Otto of Southport was killed when he was run over on Tuesday evening. RE V Chadwick, his nephew, helped move the body and soon died from heart failure. Otto, about sixty, left a wife and family near Farmers Valley. Chadwick, about forty three, left a wife in Larrabee and one son, Dr Burg Chadwick of Smethport. Jeremiah Chadwick, Ev’s father, oldest man in the county, accompanied the funeral procession.

Burt Hazeltine of Jamestown New York linked to a shooting death two years earlier in Baltimore and pardoned last August. After a recent rampage he visited a house of ill repute, became violent when challenged, fired a revolver missing the occupant, and was disarmed. He is jailed as outraged citizens refuse bail.
