Barr Named Customs Collector in Erie After General Brown
M. R. Barr of Erie is appointed Collector of Customs for Erie to fill the vacancy caused by Gen. H. L. Brown's death. Barr has long sought the post and is deemed deserving of a fat Republican office. The Russellsburg brakeman David Brady died after a railroad accident. his body was sent to South Oil City for interment. D. M. Martin of Russellsburg and Hon. H. P. Kinnear of Youngsville visited town. Frank Jones returned from New York with goods for Variety Ball. Hon. L. F. Watson left for Washington, supporting Gen. Allen for A. Marshall, replacing John Hall.
