In Younastown the natural gas supplied by Home gas fuel company is exhausted. Archer gas fuel company has built a plant and, after testing under P W Mackenzie with supervision from R S Tennant and J R Kendall, switched to producing fuel gas from crude oil. Last night the Archer gas fed into Home company pipes with satisfactory results. The firm claims a successful substitute for natural gas.

Report from Big Flats between Waverly and Elmira on the Erie road describes a terrible wreck involving an Erie freight, two following Erie sections, and a Lehigh Valley freight. Early this morning a blaze swept through the kitchen of a restaurant on the store floor of a five story tenement at 307 Seventh Avenue New York. Nine people died and authorities suspect arson for insurance. Thirty families were left homeless. loss estimated under $10,000. Fire started in the rear of John Snyder's kitchen while residents slept.
