Arrests Over Liquor Sales Case Leave Garvey Sick
Dan Carroll was arrested last Saturday on a complaint by deputy internal revenue collector B. Walker for selling malt liquor without license. A hearing before United States commissioner James O Parmlee occurred Monday at 100 o'clock. Andrew Black testified he bought beer from Carroll and Charles Garvey at Garvey's residence over several months. Carroll posted $300 bail for appearance in the Pittsburgh United States court next October. Garvey remains under arrest but illness has postponed proceedings.

A Terrible Fire in Pokane Falls Levels City Block
A devastating blaze in Pokane Falls Washington destroyed the entire business district last night. Twenty five blocks burned, with an estimated loss of fourteen million dollars. The fire began in a Railroad avenue lodging house at seven and spread rapidly due to scarce water. Five of seven destroyed banks resumed business today in Crescent block, the only remaining structure. City relief plans were enacted as the death toll remained unreported.
