Priest Honored Anniversary of Ordination at Warren Hall
Large crowd gathered at the M M B A hall to honor Rev Father Delaroque on the 44th anniversary of his ordination. A purse gift and several presents were given, and Rev Father Clarke delivered an eloquent speech praising the priest’s years of service and guiding example. The evening ended with songs and speeches and a generous repast. Warren Pa July 27 89 Verrras.

Warren county fair to hold new attractions for six days
The Warren county fair association announces the sixth annual fair begins Tuesday September 3 and runs to September 6. New attractions, expanded exhibits of farm stock manufactories and handiwork are planned to attract a larger audience than previous years. Directors say preparations are nearly complete and premium lists will be published soon.

Burglars Visit Pittsfield Amid Break-ins
Last Monday night a gang raided Pittsfield, entering several homes. At the W. H. Stright residence only a small sum was taken, while Ira A. Whitney’s house yielded $160 in cash. No arrests have yet been made.

Compromise on Warren water terms sparks council debate
The July 26 1889 Warren borough council adjourned meeting debated a plan to renew a ten year water contract with the Warren Water Company. The committee urged a counter proposal for reduced rates and guaranteed supply, with conditions for fire protection and system maintenance the proposal to be complemented by a formal borough offer to start July 1 1890.

Dr. W. A. Hammond, a former New Yorker now in the capital, is testing an elixir of life inspired by Dr. Brown-Sequard. He uses lamb tissue prepared for hypodermic injections on a decrepit elderly man, with two other patients to follow, and will assess results after six weeks.
