Sylvester Carlow, among Warren's oldest residents, died at his residence below the depot on Wednesday April 24 at 1 o'clock a.m. He leaves one son and three daughters. Fatal Accident at Grand Valley Saw Mill Claims William Phelps
William B. Phelps, 35, of Priesrenp, Pa., was killed yesterday at Mr. Tali’s saw mill three miles from Grand Valley. A rope coil or knot struck him near the bull wheel causing the shaft to wind him eight or nine turns before the wheel stopped. He died on the shaft. body badly mutilated. He leaves a wife and three children. Phelps was a member of the Kyslabie Aid Union with a 2600 policy and Local Assembly 6844, K of L. He was born in Otsego County, N. Y., and had lived in the area about ten years.
