Burglars robbed the Wm. Jewell & Son store at North Warren, seizing about fifty dollars in shoes knives socks handkerchiefs eggs and crackers from the paste office while pennies and stamps worth about three dollars from a drawer were taken. Entry believed to be by tramps prying front doors with a bar. crime discovered around 6 a.m. Monday by a resident who alerted Fred Jewel.

Terrible holocaust in Brarporp damages Higgins Hotel and depot
A devastating fire in Brarporp, Pennsylvania, destroyed the Higgins Hotel and the Buffalo Rochester Pittsburg depot while damaging the Higgins cigar factory and a local grocery.
