Paris July 30 Field Marshall von Mackensen arrives at Germanys great headquarters and is reported to replace General Ludendorff. Ludendorff has been signing war office statements and had reportedly fallen ill amid policy disagreements and frequent death rumors. Mackensen earned laurels on eastern Roumanian and Balkan fronts as Germany plans to defend Crise river and Ardre Hill.
Cadet Geo C Henderson of Arlington Mass and Cadet Betege C Koller of Peoria were wounded in a crash that killed another cadet. The collision occurred at about 1000 feet altitude as both planes went down. Keller’s body will be sent to Peoria for burial.
