Half Hun Gains Are Wiped Out By Allied Drive
Paris July 29 Half of the gains made by the Germans in their fourth and fifth offensives on the Aisne Marne front have been wiped out by the Franco American counter drive. Allied troops have forced a crossing of the Ourcq river and recaptured Champvoisy Anthenay and Olizy et Volaine. The Allies advance on a front of 20 to 25 miles has driven back German rear guards and threatens Soissons. Fere en Tardennois and Vilje en Tardennois are near the line with Fismes a vital German base for withdrawal. Continued on page four.
