British forces retake an advanced post near Festubert capturing fifty prisoners and three machine guns taken by the enemy. The action occurs amid night attacks east of Amiens that are repulsed.
German forces push along a ten mile Meteren to Vooremezeele line in Flanders as allies fight to hold high ground near Ypres. Attacks target Loere and broaden artillery bombardments across 30 mile front from Scarpe to Nieppe Forest with Amiens, Arras, and Villers Bretonneux in heavy fighting. The American army is fighting alongside French troops on the Picardy front amid a grand-scale offensive.
