Harrisburg April 17 Plans by the Department of State Police call for withdrawing six of the thirty two sub stations within the next week due to insufficient funds. Washington April 18 The navy yard wage scale adopted after negotiations between the navy department and the labor adjustment board will take effect May 1 The scale fixes the average eight hour day wage at 5 75 with overtime the average rises to about 7 00 per day The article notes the change follows a series of conferences between the two bodies.

Representative Morgan of Oklahoma introduced the 2 65 amendment as a compromise aimed at fixing the price at 2 50 in interior terminal markets rather than local markets as Senate proposed.
Miss Florence M. Tackney of Utica died after leaping from a Park Avenue hotel fifth floor window. The note to her mother spoke of missing loved ones and wishing to stay. She had checked in the day prior, leaving no clear motive.
