Perfect crash test on DC-2A at Deer Valley Airport
A DC-2A test at Deer Valley Airport near Phoenix was labeled a perfect crash by safety researchers. The 128,000 pound airliner struck a dirt mound at about 140 mph, scattering debris along a four thousand foot rail. Researchers say most passengers would have survived and plan further tests to study egress and fuel-fire dynamics.
