Paragon Mill to Start Up After Grimsmoe Return

Paul Meacham of Rex Consolidated Mining reports a persistent ore shoot on the intermediate level between Nos 1 and tunnels. Ore extends for over 40 feet with signs of extensive extraction ahead. samples run 22 percent lead and 12 ounces silver, with pockets of 70 percent lead and 27 ounces silver. Success Mine Expands Operations and New Ore Shoot
The Success Mining company shipped three carloads of concentrates last week and plans to run three shifts as development continues. With the big ore shoot near completion, the mill will operate full time and shipments rise. The company reports a high grade product with 58 percent lead and 50 ounces of silver, storing sine product due to freight tariffs. Unwatering to the 860 level may allow a crosscut to the new ore shoot, expected to be as rich as the 700 level. About 42 workers are currently on payroll amid ongoing labor shortages.

About 60 to 70 feet remain to reach the vein after this contract. Vein will be cut at about 300 feet deep, about 1200 feet west of the ore showing in No 2.
