Names on State Lines Create Distinctive Town Monikers
An old story explains odd town and car names born from a mania for lettered walls. Many borderline towns blend two state names into new labels such as Calexico Calneva Texarkana and Texico. The piece lists examples and notes the curious post office boundary in Texarkana. It also mentions other proposed names and the varied diamonds found in South Africa.
