Big new vein found in Hypotheek crosscut project

A newly discovered vein at Hypotheek shows quartz and iron with cavities after a 500 foot deep crosscut, with two drill holes revealing ore in veins converging toward a likely large ore body. The work began near an outcrop and plans aim to reach where all veins unite, about 500 feet deeper.

Idaho School of Mines Scholarship Stirs Local Interest

Francis A Thomson of Moscow, dean of the Idaho school of mines, visits Wallace for the Diy scholarship examinations open to Shoshone county high school pupils. The program envisions four year support of 250 dollars annually, with junior and senior year exams in multiple subjects and a Day scholarship committee selection.

Gas Takes Three Lives In Marsh Mine Shaft

In a tragic accident at the Marsh mine shaft Friday three men died when gas overcame them after the pump was started remotely. Victims were Fred L. Bergen Charles M. Johnson and Edward Connelly. Grimmett, Bergen’s brother in law, assumes control and plans to resume operations with improved safety measures including a new pump and electric hoist. Funeral services were held for Bergen Johnson and Connelly, with community sympathy and floral tributes noted. The company reports full insurer coverage and ongoing ore prospects, including a sample showing 26 ounces of silver and 1.1 percent copper per ton.

Elk Mining offers limited treasury stock to fund development

Elk Mining Company led by President and Manager John F. Carson of Mullan plans to issue a limited amount of treasury stock to finance further development of three adjoining claims on the Morning group. The property lies on Mill Creek's west slope between the Morning and Hunter, an area believed to hold large ore deposits.
