Foregast Earthquakes by Lawson Discovery
Dr Andrew C Lawson of the University of California outlines a threefold method for forecasting earthquakes by measuring crust creep, strain, and elastic rebound. He notes that precise time and place forecasts could aid safety, with instruments at Mt Hamilton and Ukiah contributing data. Local observers in the Coeur d'Alene district relate his work to seismic studies and latitude variation, emphasizing ongoing Pacific slope monitoring.

Electrolytic Treatment of Antimony in Ore Studies
At the Northwest experiment station in Seattle Washington the electrolytic extraction of antimony from low grade antimony ores and from gold ores containing antimony has been studied. Calcium polysulphide proved the cheapest and best alkaline sulfur leaching agent for antimony ores whereas sodium sulfide proved best for gold ores containing antimony. Some western and Alaskan ores are of these types and have proved refractory to oral methods of treatment.
