Morning mine shaft expansion eyed as ore shoot expected

The Morning mine at Mullan shows no loss of ore content or vein width on the 2260 level, still likely to extend the ore shoot. Federal Mining & Smelting plans to sink the shaft 200 more feet, open the 2450 level, and continue bold development despite higher level limits near the Coeur d’Alene district. Dividend of 1 cent per share on preferred stock declared, payable March 15, totaling about $120,000. Other Federal mines in Hailey, Baxter Springs, Pitcher, and Canyon Creek show solid profits with leases contributing revenue. about 5,000 tons of ore shipped monthly from the Morning alone.

Paragon it Development Plans Delay for Weather

Chris Grimsmoe of Vara gun Consolidated Mining says development awaits favorable weather. The firm plans to extend the Washington Water Power electric line from Raven to the Paragon mine to supply power for mill and mine, using own water power when possible. Work to resume as soon as conditions permit, likely early April.

Wallace Stockholders to Meet for Capital Change

A special meeting of Wallace Mining Milling and Realty stockholders is set for April 1 in the city. Bear Creek Mining Company Directors Review Audit

W J Stratton presented a full audit at Bear Creek Mining directors meeting. An assessment of 1 cent per share was levied to meet obligations and resume mining at the Bear Top and Orofino property above Murray. Silver Reef Mine Progress Amid Mechanical Delays

The crosscut extending No 2 tunnel of the Homestake by Silver Feet Mining has reached about 600 feet with total tunnel length near 60 feet including the original. A pending extension of 700 feet eastward is agreed to by Homestake, likely veering north toward the Silver Heel vein while encountering quartz stringers possibly linked to the Homestake vein. Patrick Brady of this city has secured bond and lease on the Monarch group including the Monarch and Honanse claims and adjacent properties west of Nine Mile near Wallace. Pittsburg capitalists back Brady with a $100000 bond and lease over three years, offering 20 percent of smelter returns until purchase.
