Foghorn Macdonald A Soldier Of Fortune
A long obituary recalls Major Neil B. Macdonald known as Foghorn, a miner and soldier of fortune who died in Montreal after a life spanning mining camps from Mexico to Nome. He served in the Canadian Army, aided Porcupine fire victims, and was famed for his voice and larger-than-life personality. Survives include sister Mrs. W. J. Fennell and four brothers in Canada and Alaska. The article notes earlier prohibition politics in New York.
