Work on Homestake May Have Hunter Vein

New vein spotted near American Commander claim

During wagon road repairs at the American Commander, workers uncovered a second vein about 150 feet south of the original, roughly ten feet wide and similar in appearance. Two men remain on site, compressor installation is complete, and development will resume once power is connected from the Washington Water Power company within weeks.

Raymond Guyer vice president and manager of Rex Consolidated Mining Co returns to Spokane after several days. He visits the Rex mine where development advances extend a crosscut toward the Okanogan vein with lead and zinc values though with troublesome separation. Leasing plans for the No 1 tunnel level vein are arranged and spring may bring more activity. Rex is controlled by eastern interests via New York executives L. E Whicher and R. M. Atwater.
