Bullion East Drift yields best copper ore face

An 4 foot ore shoot was discovered in the Bullion mine East drift face, described as the best ore found to date. William Stevens, a Bullion employee, relayed the report after visiting yesterday. Manager Taylor had left for Portland earlier and work resumed to deepen the drift seeking richer ore under the Idaho Montana divide. John F. Ferguson will receive samples for assays to verify the strike.

Miner Charles Knowles Spends Week in Milwaukee

Charles Knowles a prominent mining figure from Los Angeles visited Milwaukee last week on mining business. He departed Saturday for Milwaukee, his former base, where he plans to stay for the next two to three months. News from New York has spurred production and is expected to rise further with current estimates at 35 000 tons monthly.

State Mine Inspector Kellogg and Wallace Visit North Side

Stewart Campbell the state mine inspector left Tuesday for Murray to visit North Side properties and gather information for future mining development. He aims to keep industry contact from prospect to producing mine and plans to inspect Cedar Creek Paragon Monarch and other sites while in Idaho. The engineers visiting September 18 and 19 will travel from New York to San Francisco for the AI M M E meeting and stay in Kellogg Wallace. Local committees led by John White plan receptions and tours including the Bunker Hill Sullyvan mine or smelter and a dinner in Kellogg with engineers and industry staff. The party will move to Wallace for more visits then Spokane and Seattle with a Davenport dinner before departure.

Ajax Crosscut Advanced toward Moonlight vein prospects

Ajax Mining manager A C Bixby reported in the city that the big crosscut is progressing at about 260 feet per month with two shifts. The face now sits over 1900 feet from the portal in Moonlight ground and the project aims to reach 800 feet below the Moonlight tunnel. The Ajax vein, first opened via the Moonlight tunnel, shows a substantial ore body and the crosscut will reach 500 feet below the lowest workings, fueling expectation the Ajax will become a large producing mine.

The mine lies 5 to 6 miles south of Deborgia, Mont, with a cross cut toward a vein and about 160 feet to reach the ore under the main outcrop. The vein, near one of the district's best surface showings, may host an ore shoot at 200 feet depth. The Valentine links to the Silver Rock property and may share a compressor and power from a New Jersey syndicate plant.

Hunter Tailings Mill Boosts Output at Lease Operation

The Metals Mining company organized by J B Parker and C J Hewitt takes over the Hunter tailings lease. The National mill, leased and under Parker, processes tailings delivered by motor truck. Tailings are screened, conveyed to lower bins, ground in Hardinge mills to fine pulp, then values recovered by flotation. The mill runs full time, handling about 900 tons daily.

Contract Let For Mission Flat Road Mission Montana

KS Stone secretary of the Shoshone County Good Roads association announced a government let for the Mission Flat Road around Missoula. The forest service will award the contract on September 10 with completion aimed for mid December. The road from Cate bridge to Green School House near Fourth of July canyon will improve crossing conditions and eliminate high water hazards, part of finishing the Yellowstone trail sections to Lookout Pass and Montana divide.

New Ore Shoot Reported Struck on Constitution Main

Information from Pine Creek reports a new ore shoot in the Constitution drift on the main tunnel level.
