Wilson M and S Co Valuable Group of Claims Near Saltese
William Furke of Saltese, president of Wilson Mining and Smelting, toured the fourteen claim group near Saltese Montana. Ore samples show galena in the lead-silver vein near surface and copper ore shipping grade in the copper vein. A tunnel dug years ago exposed ore but was largely destroyed by a forest fire. a new tunnel now extends 390 feet and should reach the vein in about 150 feet. A crosscut and drift to explore the copper vein are under way, with entry expected in about 100 feet.
