Central Idaho described as rich in minerals and water power
An engineering survey extols central Idaho for undeveloped mineral resources and abundant water power. It highlights the Salmon canyon, vast canyons and landslides, rugged topography, and a climate with heavy winter snow. The piece notes gold placers, potential copper and zinc deposits, and looming mining and road developments that promise rising activity.

Roller Bearings Cut Friction for Freight Cars
A new roller bearing for freight cars and passenger coaches reduces friction by about 90 percent and eliminates the hot box. In a test a car weighing 122,600 pounds was punched 60 feet in one direction then returned by a single man. After 11 months of service the bearings remained in as good condition as when installed. Similarity breeds contempt.
