Good Progress Now Being Made Sinking at Chicago Boston

The Chicago-Boston mine on Lake gulch two miles from Wallace shows improved progress after initial delays. Shaft depth reached 40 feet below the 200 level with a 24 man working force. Plan is to reach 400 feet depth, explore 100 and 200 level exposures, and crosscut toward Kill Buck vein.

Fast time favored by Wallace board in time change plan

By unanimous vote the Wallace board of trade recommended adopting fast time for city and district. A city council ordinance and a county commission resolution would seek to shift clocks from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October, with Pacific coast time prevailing otherwise. The move follows a committee study showing strong support in Burke and Mullan, with some opposition in Wallace and Kellhowe over potential railroad confusion.
