Wardell Loses Bid to Put Prohibition Question on Michigan Ballot
The Michigan Supreme Court denied the petition of Robert D. Wardell secretary of the Michigan branch of the National Association Against the Prohibition Amendment to compel the secretary of state to place an amendment on the November ballot. The court returned the petition denoted denida and offered no explanation. Wardell sought to write into Michigan law all Congress liquor traffic legislation and to render future congressional prohibition measures part of Michigan statutes.
