The Wakefield City Commission passes an ordinance funding the 1924 fiscal year. The measure raises 201,187 dollars by taxation for General, Street and Sewer, Park and Cemetery, Electric, and Water funds, per the city budget. Mayor A L Rummel signs. City Clerk William Jacobson records.
County agent office in Tronwood reports daily arrivals of Sodatol the cheapest explosive for land clearing offered at six dollars seventy five cents per hundred pounds. Orders within seven miles of Wakefield Bessemer or Ironwood deliverable. farther points ship by rail. Also details safety, packaging, caps, and use for stumps and ditches. Government requires advance payment. Also notes milk production records project and upcoming Upper Peninsula Development Bureau meeting with speakers.
Wakefield Township Clerk announces registration review and electors sign up on March 15 and March 22 1924 at the Township Hall Thomaston. Eligibility includes US citizens 21+ with six months in Michigan and twenty days in the township prior to election. Women 21+ qualifying by birth naturalization or marriage may register.
