Death in West Yards of C N W Ry Man Killed

Thomas Goodes 55 a Greek native working in boarding cars was struck by a caboose in the Chicago and Northwestern West Yards Wakefield Michigan on July 24 1917. An inquest found death due to neglect by the railway crew and employees. Funeral held that afternoon.

Teachers Examination Dates Set for Gogebic County

Examinations for Gogebic County teachers will be held at the Bessemer courthouse on August 9 10 and 11 with morning sessions starting at eight o'clock. Tests cover reading for all certificates based on the Manual and Course of Study. Bulletins are obtainable from the Department of Instruction at Lansing. Dog days will soon be here.
