In Marquette federal court the Charcoal Iron company of America, led by J W Mitchells of Toronto, purchased Lake Superior Iron from a receiver for 4 9 million dollars. Present were John S Michell as special master, Frank W Blair of Union Trust Detroit, and Henry Ledyard of Detroit. Plants at Newberry Manistique Ashland Boyne City Chocola Elk Rapids form roster with only Newberry and Boyne City operating now. Ashland and Manistique to resume blasting after repairs. Yale mine lease in Bessemer owned by J M Longyear, with timber holdings and other assets acquired.
