Catholic Foresters Conventioneers Visit Hankinson in 1918

The Hankinson News recounts the 1918 state convention of the Catholic Order of Foresters held in Hankinson. Crop Prospects Bright Across State Despite Cold Spell

Crop prospects are exceptionally bright in this section despite recent cold weather. Fine grain growing weather since Monday boosts hopes for a record crop, with pastures good and hay meadows promising large yields. Sergeant Hanley to give war lecture in Wahpeton

Sergeant G. V. Hanley, one of 15 survivors from the Princess Pats, will present a vivid wartime talk in Wahpeton with a newly received French film. He sailed for France in December 1914, serving 23 months in trenches in France and Belgium, recounting key battles and experiences for a Wahpeton Reserve benefit.
